The other day on my way to work I saw the most amusing sales pitch from a homeless person. Standing on a corner downtown with his change cup between his feet, his sign read:
“Girlfriend kidnapped by Ninjas. Need money for ransom and Kung Fu lessons.”Â
It’s been a few days now, and I still remember his awesome sign. If I pass him again, I might even have to donate a dollar or two to the “cause” just for his creativity.Â
Clever marketing…I hope it works out for him!Â
Has anyone else seen any memorable “marketing” in odd places recently? I’m sure it’s everywhere…

I walked down to lunch one day and I thought I saw a man was proposing to a woman in the pedway of the Aon Center, and I thought “how sweet. Weird that it’s during lunch hour and here of all places, but sweet…” but then they started singing a piece that must have been from an opera and music was playing from a hidden boombox. After they finished they simply said “Tickets on sale now at the the theater” and walked off, leaving spectators confused and smiling. Now, if only I could remember WHICH theatre….
