I founded MSI more than 45 years ago, so I suppose you could call me the original mixed nut. Or should that be pluralized in some way? When I first started the company, we focused solely on Public Relations, which at the time was in its infancy. In the years that followed, we built MSI into a full-service integrated branding and marketing agency, earning a spot in the Advertising Age Top 150 U.S. agency list and becoming recognized for our expertise in CPG and Retail Branding and Marketing, Communications and Strategy, among other things, along the way.

Outside of my responsibilities as CEO, I've written a host of trade books, articles and thought leadership papers and addressed dozens of trade conventions on brand leverage, pricing, positioning, promotion and communication. Is this too much bragging? I tried to cut it down. I also have a very strong interest in Psychology, specifically the biology of human irrationality. I've written four books on the subject, and have been interviewed on a number of network shows. One of the things I've discovered is that we really don't know very much about ourselves….the mechanics of how we think, for example, or where consciousness resides in the brain. Neuroscience hasn't come close to figuring these things out, the very basics of life, and yet some of us still get carried away with ourselves.

In addition to my fascination with the nuts who surround us, I like unsalted peanuts. I was asked to include this information.
